    BBYO 

     

    BBYO B'nai Israel has joined forces with Adath Israel of Newtown to debut a new joint BBYO Chapter for the Jewish Community. The newly merged "Noah Pozner BBYO Chapter" is open to all Jewish teens in grades 8th-12th! You do not have to be a member of either temple to join or of BBYO to attend the meeting. Questions?     When Southbury Said NO! to the Nazis:  1937.  Ongoing Commemoration

    76 years ago the town of Southbury put a halt to the establishment of a Nazi training camp in the Kettletown section.  B'nai Israel and the Jewish community have figured prominently in the commemoration, that has included the creation of a new award-winning film "Home of the Brave."  See "Home of the Brave" trailer here.  As part of an educational program "Home of the Brave" was featured at the United States Senate.  Click HERE to learn of upcoming showings.  Click HERE for a new film about the making of "Home of the Brave."

    Scholarships

     

    Traurig Scholarship

    The Louis D. Traurig Scholarship Trust accepts applications for scholarships for college or graduate education. The Trust provides scholarships to students from the Greater Waterbury Area to help defray the cost of college or graduate school education. The application period is now open
     

    Camp Scholarships

    The Brad & Seth Mahler Camp Scholarship Fund application period is now open. The Fund provides awards each year to enable youngsters from our congregation to experience Jewish Camping. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need. Contributions to the fund are being accepted.
